Popular New Year's Resolutions

What would you say are the most popular NYR? Weight loss and overall fitness have to be up at the top of that list. How about a new job or better life management? Less work and more play? We all know we don't want to end up like Jack from The Shining. The thought of a hedge maze still haunts me a little...also little girls on tricyles create a certain stomach turning feeling that I would prefer to avoid. Maybe it was all that blood? Anyone resolve to "Go Somewhere" (a popular NYR I've seen on the internet)??? If so, I would stay away from any "Isolated hotels" where the possibility of "cabin fever" setting in is likely and also those tricycles are a sure sign.

How about quitting smoking? Do you know anyone trying to do this. Do you know the best way to support them and help them through this process? Being a non-smoker, I have no idea what this is like. Right now, I think I know 3 people in this process now. Obviously its not easy, but what is the best way to give support? I would definitely go with not smoking near them, but what else? When I was very little my dad quit smoking and he ate a TON of jolly ranchers. Costco size bags, actually.

Another NYR, maybe not as popular would be trying to save money. I am sure we all think about this time and again. I look at my IRA and 401K every couple of months. Damn, now I have to add this one to my personal NYR list...I guess I'll have to put together my list for my next post. Maybe you should work on yours! NYE isn't the only day to do it. We can work on changes and resolutions all the time. Everyday, I think of 20 new things I'd like to do and after I put it into perspective, maybe I will accomplish some of them???

Yesterday was Day 7 (week 3) of my running program. Don't quote me, but I am actually starting to like running, a little.
